screening / Q&A with MANSOR PUTEH

synopsis

“SEMAN focuses on a young Malay man, Osman or Seman who, trying to find meaning in his life, decides to recollect his past experience and the history of his family. The film is told in a series of vignettes showing the past, present and future (imaginary) episodes in the life of Seman, which highlight his personal angst and the plight of his family, as a representation of the Malay society. Filmed in a home-video style with shaky and unconventional camera angles.”
